Hadeer,Esra, Fatma R.,Aldana, P2.team collaboration.

-I have to arrange my pictures according to a system
-Create a system that works with my pictures and my group's pictures.
-Explore different possibilities.
- Documenting the process.

We started writing down our categories, then, from that we thought to create a system out of them, so we thought about the categories in general, some of them are very opened and the others are related to them in someway..

we thought of different keywords to represent them all:
Life
Surroundings: these categories combines together to create different lifestyles, they complete each other.
Then we chose "being"..

From that word..we noticed that the categories have common stuff inside, for instance, fabric and clothing, or lights and furniture..

So we put:

B: cars and buildings
E: Furniture and stationary
I: mugs and food
N: Phones and Languages
G: clothing and accessories

We created our baseline and x-height, and we started linking between the categories, to see the difference and what makes each category different than the other one..

First we decided that all of our images are related to people in general. So our main category was people. From there, we divided it into four main categories, which are=house, technology, clothing and food. Our criteria for these categories was that they are the essentials for living.

combining our categories and homework

Our group:
Sara Q
maria
me

We had a few ideas about how to combine our categories:

- human to manufactured
-distance from the body

-basic to additional

we decided to go with the last idea i.e. which was to map our images from most basic to most unnecessary.

This is the order in which we placed them:
Body - Eyes
Food - Bread
Beverages
Fruits & Vegetables

Ice Cream
Clothing - Underwear

Bottoms
Tops
Shoes
Shoe soles
Furniture - Floors

Lighting
Seating
Tables
Door handles
Mugs
Cars - Back of cars
Car accessories

Drag Racing Cars
Phones - Mobile phones
Mobile screens
Sides of phones

Accessories - Belts
Rings
Scarfs
Necklaces
Piercings
Tattoos

The way in which we navigated our viewer was with string. Since we mapped out this system with levels of accessories:

Primary
Secondary
Tertiary
We used 3 gradients of blue (neutral) string... (well until the middle gradient ran out)

The following are pictures of the final product.

homework: what is the difference between lifestyle and personality? are there any overlaps? Are they related to each other? upload all photos onto flickr group...one by one. print 21 copies of my thumbnails 5 lifestyles...create categories by using every one's photos. number of images per lifestyle is optional. map it in a linear way. am i going to use stereotypes or not?
