AISHA, P2.1 Process G

after that ...  i tried with so many grids  varied from the complex ones to the simple ones .. .

  i  finally decided to pick the simple folding with one cut on the side..  so the people will not have trouble with opening the catalogue  and it wouldnt take so much time from them ... 

 After the critque ..  i figured out that i have mistakes  .. and i didnt like what am doing .. beucase there wasnt a stable system in my catalogue... so i did it all over again .. 

 

 

First i thought that the system is only how the catalogue looks ,, but then i knew that it's about what does it contains ... 

so I picked two  catagories  for each life styles ...  and under each catagory there are three images ..  these images ranks from  FOR EXAMPLE  .. expensive to cheap ..  and so on .. 

I  included the persona for each lifestyle ..  and a quote of the same person .. and in the back  i created a scenario by using a sentence that describes the person's hobby or activity..  and an image that symbolizes the scene. 

and this is the Back of it ..  where the scenario is ..

Explanation:
Ok, so This is my final catalog. here I have images, type, pattern, and color included. With the fold.
For color, I studied and researched what some mean, and what are they used for. and this is what I came up with

Color:
Orange - hippy
Purple - the rich and the famous
Green - pregnant woman
Blue - spoiled boy
Pink - teenage girl

Pattern: I connected every pattern with every lifestyle. studied the shape. the strokes, and the color as well. then tested how some would look on the color shade.

I chose 9 images, that explain what every lifestyle does with food, clothes, cars, chains, phones and such. then In the daily scenario I wrote something all of these 5 lifestyles do every morning at 5:00 o'clock.

P2 Catalog, Process, Final

Primary Sketch:


My catalog had the lifestyles of 5 designers. A typographer, information designer, animator, fashion designer, and film maker. The decision of what artifacts I would be using was part influenced by 5 aspiring designers & part by what these designers would use in their specific field. I was struggling a while with this until I moved away from the computer and worked on paper instead. That way I was able to figure out the dimensions and categories for each lifestyle (designer). This was one of my primary sketches for the catalog. I placed the artifacts on a scale/dimension of their own.
Folding:

When I looked into the folding, I had to rework my layout to fit the grid that the folding created.
And the double sided printing meant more space for the information to be distributed in. I used the folding to complete some of lifestyles' pages when closed. This is how the final turned out.

this this the final for of the front page:

each lifestyle has its own quarter "space"

the folding will be the separator 

the first fold will be from top to bottom

then from right to left

then there will be little -tail-like arms.. each will be folded the opposite side

one of them will have the title (_life) written on it.
