P1.1 comprehensive sketches/d

After working on my calendar for a long time I believe that finally I solve the problems I was having with my system.

As I said the purpose of my calendar is to teach children and educate them

So I thought about why don't I teach them the four seasons of the year.. so I split my calendar into 4 quoters-Each quoter has 3 montha.(Dec,jan,feb winter),(march.april,may spring),(june july august summer) and (sep,oct,november fall).I created 1 symbol for each season and repeated this symbol 7 times (the days of the week).

On the side of the calendar there is a little square that tells my audience the month and in each month the square moves a step bellow which will create a playful depth that when children see it they can tell that this month comes after the other (it would teach them the order )by touching and feeling and I think thats important couse most children learn better by touching things.It let the information stick to their minds forever.

Another thing the lines you see in the calendar is like rulers or guide lines that help children how to follow and learn which day comes before the other.They follow the line and it will lead them to the day that comes first.

I also used the idea of color coding which I think works a lot for my concept like it starts with a darker shade of gray which represent winter ,couse winter is cold and people usually wear dark clothes in winter to keep them worm.The colors goes lighter as we move to the rest of the seasons.

I think the idea of working with gray scale is great and I am not sure yet if I want to add color to it or not.
